Plagiarism is the presentation of another person's language, text, ideas, thoughts, data, or expressions as one's own original work without appropriate acknowledgment. It also includes self-plagiarism, such as duplicate or redundant publication, text recycling, and salami slicing.The Journal of Cardiovascular Diseases (JCVD) adheres to the ethical guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, regarding plagiarism and publication ethics.All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using Turnitin plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with an overall similarity index of up to 40% are returned to the authors along with the similarity report for revision and appropriate corrections. Authors should also ensure compliance with the HEC plagiarism policy, which permits an overall similarity index of no more than ≤19%, with similarity from any single source not exceeding 5%. Authors who have already performed a similarity check may upload the Turnitin similarity report as a supplementary file during manuscript submission.If plagiarism is confirmed during the editorial or peer-review process, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.
